The
National Hotel is situated in the heart of the historic market
town
of Dingwall and is only a short walk from all local shops
and
the railway station.
Nearby is the River Peffery, the
northernmost canal in Britain
which was designed by Thomas Telford in 1817, an ideal walk
to
stretch your legs and get a breath of fresh Highland air after
one
of our hearty meals.
From
the front of the hotel the Hector MacDonald Memorial
can
be seen, well worth a visit for a fantastic view of the
whole of Dingwall and just round the corner from the hotel is the
birth place of Macbeth and the shores of the Cromarty Firth
where he once played as a child.
There are many more sights to be seen, just book a night or two
and
you can find out more about Dingwall, the Viking capital of
Scotland.
